The ReStage Script: A National Infrastructure Vision for Circular Stage & Screen Production
On 7 July, ReStage and its founding partners launched The ReStage Script: A National Infrastructure Vision for Circular Stage & Screen Production.
This "New Script" for reuse carries a vision to affect substantive change across the screen and stage sectors, establishing a zero-waste economy within an industry that spends around £1.5bn each year buying and disposing of materials for sets and scenery.
ReStage, in collaboration with the National Theatre, has been running a pilot at the National Theatre's Green Store for the past year and has now set out a long-term costed vision to realise reuse at an industrial scale, with the publication of a new report anchored in a deep body of research, engagement, and operational testing.
With the UK & Ireland recognised as a global benchmark for culture this is a chance to reflect on how we might unlock the infrastructure and coordinated leadership needed to pull together the space, funds, and skills needed to turn a significant environmental challenge into a £955 million industrial opportunity.

Our Chair, Sara Turnbull, and new Executive Director, Sherry Dobbin, will share the work, the plan and next stages with the attendees in active dialogue.
