First meeting of the Circular Hubs network

ReStage kicked off a new network on April 16th for reuse hubs working to create a circular economy for the creative sector. The online workshop gave the 20 organisations from across the UK and beyond a chance to share their plans for the future, key barriers and what they hope to give/get from the network. We also gave them a sneaky peak at the results of our recent survey of circular hubs.

There was such a fantastic supportive collaborative energy in the virtual room and a really strong call for designers, fabricators and productions in the screen and theatre sectors to:

  1. Start with reuse

  2. Plan to pass it on

  3. Make it modular

Based on input from the network the ReStage team are now putting together a programme of activity for 2025/26. Reach out if you’d like to be involved.

In Spring 2025, Arts Council England kindly supported us to survey and host an online workshop with people leading and setting up circular hubs for the creative sector across the country.

Practitioners including the Royal Ballet and Opera, Royal Shakespeare Company, British Film Designers Guild, Re-Scene It, and Scott Fleary shared work they are already doing on modular sets and the discussions identified ways to collaborate on R&D over the next year.
